ART of ORGANIZING pays its cabinet-makers and installers up to $65 per hour. To qualify for the maximum rate, the following protocol must be strictly followed.

PROTOCOL
for Cabinet-Makers and Installers working
for ART of ORGANIZING

  1. Quality Over Speed
    • Speed should never come at the expense of quality or the proper way of doing things.
  2. Fully Equipped
    • Workers must arrive fully equipped with all required tools and supplies.
  3. Maximum Effort
    • Maximum effort is the key to maximum success. Every task must be carried out with full dedication, precision, and care.
  4. Punctuality
    • Workers must arrive at least 5 minutes before the official start time.
  5. Professional Appearance
    • Workers must look professional and wear a proper work uniform, preferably a jumpsuit.
  6. Essential Tools on Hand
    • At all times, workers must carry:
      • Mini tape measure
      • Pencil
      • White-out
      • Black marker
      • 150-grit sandpaper
      • Green screw bit
  7. Indoor Footwear
    • When working inside a client’s residence, workers must use indoor shoes that are easy to put on and take off.
  8. Material Handling
    • Rubber gloves must be worn when carrying materials, especially inside a client’s home, to ensure better grip, control, and to minimize the risk of damage.
  9. Floor and Area Protection
    • Before entering a client’s residence, workers must bring 2–4 drop sheets:
      • 1–2 for covering the floor at the main entrance
      • 1–2 for covering the work area
  10. Wall Protection
    • Panels must never be leaned directly against client walls. Protective measures must be taken.
  11. Power Tool Use Restrictions
    • Table saws, miter saws, or any large power saws must not be used inside a client’s residence.
    • The only exceptions are jigsaws and flush saws.
  12. Using a Jigsaw
    • A jigsaw may only be used with a proper workstation placed on top of a drop sheet, and preferably connected to a vacuum to minimize dust.
  13. Cleanliness During Installation
      • The work area must be kept clean at all times.
      • Dust and debris must be cleaned periodically during installation to prevent its spread throughout the house.

AFTER INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE — BEFORE LEAVING THE SITE

  1. Notify Completion
Send an SMS to Artem with the word “done.”
  2. Organize Tools
Place all tools and personal items outside, behind the client’s door.
  3. Clean Work Area
Sweep and/or vacuum any area where mess was created.
  4. Vacuum Units
Vacuum noticeable dust from the installed units, including inside drawers and hidden spots.
  5. Detailed Wipe-Down
Wash and put on cotton cleaning gloves, then wipe down every installed surface (top, bottom, and hidden spots) using water and Goo Gone.
    • For tough areas, use an additional rag with detergent.
    • Be precise — every square inch must be spotless.
  6. Floor Cleaning
    Mop the floor if necessary.
  7. Seal & Finish
Apply DAP sealant where required — see detailed instructions below.
  8. Final Inspection
    Double-check everything.
  9. Client Walkthrough
Call the client, present the completed work, highlight the results, and explain any necessary details. Demonstrate sturdiness (e.g., climb the closet), and remind the client of the 10-year warranty — which is almost never required.
  10. Provide Materials
Hand the customer their Service Kit and Survey Envelope.
  11. Handle Payment
    Collect the balance if applicable.
  12. Pack Up
Load all tools and materials into the vehicle.
  13. Final Outdoor Check
Clean up the outdoor area if necessary.

How to Apply DAP

  1. Check the Product
    • Ensure you are using DAP Dynaflex 230, or another sealant pre-approved by Artem, and confirm it has not been exposed to temperatures above 35 °C (95 °F).
    • Cut the tube tip at a 45-degree angle, creating an opening of 1.5 mm. Sand the side edges of the tip as thin as possible
  2. Prepare the Surface
    • Make sure the area and the unit are clean, dry, and dust-free.
    • If necessary, wipe with lacquer thinner (especially on existing structures).
  3. Mask the Joint (if required)
    • Apply blue painter’s tape along both sides of the joint for a clean edge.
  4. Condition the Surface
    • Using a clean, lightly damp cotton rag, wipe along the corner or joint where DAP will be applied. This makes the sealant easier to work with, helps it adhere better, and ensures it lasts longer.
  5. Apply the DAP
    • Within 3 minutes, apply the DAP, forcing it into the gap as deeply as possible.
  6. Tool the Joint
    • Within 4 minutes, use a caulk tool to press in and smooth the bead.
    • Wipe away any excess immediately.
  7. Final Wipe
    • Using a clean, damp rolled rag, lightly wipe along the sealant line, barely touching it, for a neat finish.
  8. Curing
    • Allow approximately 24 hours for full curing (depending on bead thickness and environmental conditions).

Workers must arrive fully equipped with all required tools and supplies, including:

Workers must pay close attention to any tools, accessories, or additional items that are missing, running low, or broken. Notes should be taken immediately, and corrective action must be taken without delay.

To maintain order and prevent leaving tools behind, every section of the toolbox should be clearly marked and designated for a specific item.
